Winter calls for warm, comforting desserts, and this Spiced Apple and Pear Crumble is the perfect answer. Combining the natural sweetness of apples and pears with a hint of spice, this crumble offers a healthy twist on a classic winter favourite. It’s low in calories but high in flavour, making it a guilt-free indulgence.

NUTRITIONAL INFORMATION (per 4 serves)

Protein: 2g
Carbohydrates: 28g
Fat: 6g
Fibre: 4g

 

INGREDIENTS LIST

2 large apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 large pears, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup almond meal
2 tbsp coconut oil, melted
1 tsp vanilla extract

 

STEP BY STEP
  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears with cinnamon, nutmeg, and honey or maple syrup. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Transfer the fruit mixture to a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, almond meal, melted coconut oil, and vanilla extract until crumbly.
  5. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the fruit.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is tender.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a dollop of Greek yoghurt.
  8. Enjoy!!!
